New Year's Reality check!

Another year, another chance
To start our lives anew;
This time we’ll leap old barriers
To have a real breakthrough.

We’ll take one little step
And then we’ll take one more,
Our unlimited potential
We’ll totally explore.

We’ll show off all our talents
Everyone will be inspired;
(Hmm…while I’m writing this,
I’m getting very tired.)

We’ll give up all bad habits;
We’ll read and learn a lot,
All our goals will be accomplished,
Sigh...or maybe not.

Window shopping aka hopping

This has become a people's favourite pasttime in recent times.They all blame it on mall culture.Lets explore what exactly is window shopping?Here is the exact meaning "To many, shopping is considered a recreational activity in which one visits a variety of stores in search of a suitable product to purchase. "Window shopping" is an activity that shoppers engage in by browsing shops with no intent to purchase, possibly just to pass the time between other activities, or to plan a later purchase." But,now it means gazing at products not needed and buying them on impulse.We all love this gazing and sighing at windows,but alas it burns a hole in our pocket.We end up buying worthless things on impulse.I so remember buying hideous footwear !But,is this only way to entertain ourselves?Is this the cosmopolite crowd's idea of fun?Indulging sometimes in window shopping is alright,but making your favourite pasttime is not..Now i can endlessly window shop in a book store (probably will get chased :-) )

catch up on old friends..

Last weekend was the time to catch up on old friends.I called every contact of mine with whom i had lost touch.They were all happy to hear from me.We exchanged gossip and news of each others life.I was wondering why did i lose contact with them in this age where we have so many technologies to keep in touch?We get into the game of "let him/her contact me..y shud i contact him/her?" I even pinged all my gtalk contacts :) .We exchanged woes ,happy news,mutual miseries ....We need to stop being egoistical and keep in touch with people who matter/sometimes who dont matter.Feels good to have that human contact.Plan to catch up on some people personally.This weekend bekons me.....

Holiday blues

I had to work this last week of year 2008 ,i was the only one from my team(and no i am not so dedicated ,just unfortunate enough to not able to lie and callin sick..y me!!)....There was this other guy working from india as well..(not bright ,so of no help on work related issues).The office is completely empty,and even if i climb my desk and jump .There will be no one to be shocked.(no,i dont jump on desk :) ).I did dare to sit crosslegged on chair and shake a leg to the music.I wish we had work from home available in such cases,but i guess management doesnot trust us any longer.The workload is high due to less people,i was expecting no work:( .Anyways ,i guess some of you are also stuck to work on last week on december...waiting for 31st!! ....

new year..new hope..new joy

well,new year is approaching and everyone is recounting 2008 with joys and sorrows it brought.We all are in nostolgic mood.Everyone is recounting the good and bad times in year 2008.I always get very excited and apprehensive when something ends and something new starts.I am totally non superstitious ,but i do believe that what i do on every new year will affect my entire year(illogical!!).I am taking leave from work and plan to enjoy my day with family and friends.I remember i spent jan 1 2008 travelling and did a bit of travelling in entire 2008 :) .Hope new year brings a few surprises and excitement!amen to that...

Male v/s female in job scene!

This is a very hot topic as girls are moving ahead of guys in all domains.They are getting in male dominated fields and thriving.But,are they getting their dues for such capability?We all know the answer is "No".It can be from being considered for a promotion or for a hike.They always get sidelined despite giving their 110%. I have seen cases where it has happened to my friends.Even i had a brush with such elements.Can you imagine telling this to fresh college graduate on the first day at new project "i have never worked with a girl before,not sure if i can adjust,and you can actually cope(duh!..wat about my adjustment with a jerk like you).Unbelievelable but true,i am not saying this is happening everywhere,but most of the times it happens.I see very few gals in the promoted list of most companies.I guess someday this will end and we all will happily co-exist.

Dasvidhaniya........

This was an ultimate emotional flick...Reminded me of Anand(Rajesh khanna starrer).Vinay pathak truly gave an outstanding performance.This is about a guy who comes to know that he has fatal cancer and has only 3 months to live.He decides to give his life a makeover.He breaks out of his mundane life and does things he normally wont do.So,starts his 3 months journey from declaring his love to his childhood sweetheart,meeting his friend abroad,buying a car,to falling in love.This movie made me laugh and cry at the same time.This one of those movies which make you think about life and our disregard to passing time.Made me think of what 10 things i will do if i were in his place?I am still pondering over it.But,i have decided to stop following patterns in life..!Go with the flow ......Let life surprise us.. :) ! I end this by saying its a lovely movie!(a must watch)
