Life as we take it

Have you seen people with picture perfect life cribbing to you and here you are trying to deal with your problems. How does it make you feel? You feel worse as to thinking "he/she has so much" still not happy ,where do i stand a chance. That is an attitude of defeatist , think this " what use is picture perfect life without contentment."
Sometimes in comparing ourselves with others we forget to count our blessings.Think like "we have so much, and i can help someone" .But a positive attitude is something which is very difficult to cultivate in today's world of cut throat competition. But one can always try to be content.
Sometimes in life there are moments where you suddenly feel content ,its like those you should enjoy. There are people who will always say something negative when you are feeling happy.Ignoring such pests is the key.

Dream of an alternative career

I am watching shows like Suits, Grey's anatomy, Scrubs, Body of lie, CSI, White collar. All these have one thing in common ,they show the glamour of these jobs. The job of a doctor ,Lawyer, and pathologist sounds and looks so cool in these shows. Makes me wonder why am i staring at my laptop at work and not doing one of these jobs :)
I am going gaga over Suits, its supercool with its style quotient and edgy story.I fantasize myself in a suit and solving a case.I asked my friend do you visualize yourself in that role when you watch a particular show.Seems like i am not the only one ,people generally do that.Grey's anatomy makes messy operations looks cool and saving lives very easy.It seems so wonderful to save a life than save a computer/program that I do :).
But i must say its a way to go over "what if" situations.Based on my last post about career choices I think this can be deemed as alternate career choices in dreams.I am crazy about Suits as of now!Being a lawyer seems so cool!
TV does give us an outlet to dream of an alternate career, keep on dreaming....

Innocence interrupted

Do you remember your younger days when people constantly asked you "Beta, bade hokar
kya banoge" means what will you become when you grow up.I remember, i was very young
and people indulgently asking me this.I used to reply based on who was my impressive person
of the day, sometimes it was lorry driver, dentist, conductor, traffic police etc..And yes people indulgently used to pinch our cheeks when we replied. It was a way to make small talk to children, adult din't really know what to ask kids, this was their way of connecting to youngsters.
Fast forward 20 years and now its a million dollar question, i rarely get chance to pinch kids cheeks as they seem to have gotten smarter. Now you get cool replies like doctor, engineer, IAS ,CEO!! Its all to do will huge shift in connection between adults and children and the IQ of kids is way higher than 20 years ago.Is it really a good thing?I think the pressure and competitive world is not sparing the innocence of childhood.Children now study long hours, even try all extra curricular activities .So that they can try in "indian idol" "dance india dance".
My friend and I were reminiscing good old doordarshan days, the kite flying , train journey etc..We look at it with such fondness.  What will gen y look at X-box and Chennai express? God forbid!
