Zero expectation theory?

   "Karm karo, phal ki chinta mat karo"

          I have been wondering about this from sometime.How true is it? Can we really not care about the fruits of our labor? It is one thing that I have just been following it for the past few years and feel at peace. I realize that its pointless to waste energy in some things which are just not worth the effort.There are people who argue , harbor  hatred, crib and the list goes on.These factor kind of move you away from the fruits of your labor and take you towards a self destructive path.No,  this doesn't mean become complacent towards injustice done to you.There you need to fight back, as god will not  magically appear to fix your problem.

        Then this makes you wonder how can you not worry then and what does the above quote from Bhagwad Gita mean? It means we can Not by merely abstaining from work can one achieve freedom from reaction, nor by renunciation alone can one attain perfection. We need to continue doing our part hoping for the best.Now, here it clearly states "chinta mat karo" .It doesn't say become a saint , it just says be it good or bad, just hope for good, but do not worry.Its easier said than done, its not possible to not worry nowadays.We are bogged down by a world where worry is the main ingredient of the day.I wonder sometimes if this is really true or lord Krishna was just motivating Arjuna to fight.
         One thing i am very clear is never to form a hearsay opinion about someone, we need to observe and make our own opinion.But, its best to start out by assuming something positive about a person.Its upto that person to build or break the image.The image sometimes tends to get murky like when you throw stone in a still image on water.I suppose we just give someone a chance till a problem can be sorted, else just let it go and be free of that person.This again makes you wonder, isn't this a tack taken by a person who is defeatist.But, you can only try upto a certain level.I tend to get detached of the situation and just can't connect back to such people.It might be flaw in my makeup , but it rarely happens that a person is so bad.We usually have some excuse to make and give a second chance.So, i wonder how often we are free of Chinta ?

Silly

    How often we don't do things we want to do,
    We keep silent when we want to sing,
    At the risk of sounding positively silly,
    we just end up laughing shrilly

    We don't move when we want to dance,
     But look back upon it as a lost chance,
     It better to look and be called silly today,
     Than rue the chance of missed yesterday.

A beautiful mind?

Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to discover a beautiful heart.

        No , i am not talking about the famous movie by Russel Crowe(It was an amazing movie).I am just talking about what constitutes a beautiful mind? No , being a saint doesn't mean a beautiful mind.Sometimes we come across people with such beautiful mind that you just never forget them!That small action taken by somebody years ago still brings a tiny smile and makes you feel glad that world has such people.Am i being serious ?Can mind be truly beautiful ? Can Gandhi, Mandela be called to have had beautiful minds?Not really, doing something selflessly is what makes a beautiful maybe? Not really , its knowing that you won't get anything out of it what constitutes beauty of mind.
       I recently went to a children's home on 15th August, after spending sometime with children we went to a women's home for mentally handicapped. People running these institutions selflessly make you feel that you are a small particle in the universe.Then there comes in a troop who were volunteering to entertain them.They performed salsa and did some fun exercises.But, their enthusiasm for photo opportunity is what made me feel bad, is the world about just showcasing your photos on facebook? Do we really need to show off the so called goodness? I am not telling that taking photos is bad, but that of a few helpless women for the sake of showcasing your "goodness"  leaves a lot to be desired.
     Maybe its a naive and idealistic way of thinking, but true beauty is when i saw a can driver just leaving his cab and running to help an accident victim, and infact taking him to the hospital. A poor man sharing his meager food.Selflessness is a tough trait to cultivate in the world of selfies.(OMG, a truly original quote by me!) .I am still wondering what made me write this.,

A beautiful mind is idealistic world's need,
Can be grown by few selfless deeds,
Let's bury the seed's of hatred,
Let's keep everything we do sacred..

Pathway

One day you wake up from the dream,
The chaotic life is no longer as it may seem,
Only course of action left is to give up,
But will you allow your dreams to shrivel up?

Nothing can be that bad my friend,
It is upto you how you apprehend,
If amending your way is the only way ,
Then memories have to be shut away...

From the dairy of a pessimist ...

“You'll never find a rainbow if you're looking down”
― Charles Chaplin

        Now , i am self confessed pessimist.Most of my friends know this and tease me about it.It all started with a personality development class which happened in first semester of college.We enrolled basically to kill sometime.I chap as usual asked , showing a glass which was half filled.Anyways, he was very irritating...kept asking "what do you see?" for about 15-20 minutes.I finally responded, i see half empty glass, you can imagine the flow after that.I was the class guinea pig after that and was termed as "pessimist " etc etc..
      As per wikipedia its "Pessimism is a state of mind in which one anticipates undesirable outcomes or believes that the evil or hardships in life outweigh the good or luxuries. Value judgments may vary dramatically between individuals, even when judgments of fact are undisputed. The most common example of this phenomenon is the "Is the glass half empty or half full?" situation.
     There's a more than just one type of optimist or pessimist.I just randomly had googled in college days after that as that session kinda depressed me (being the target of a session where you paid and went!sigh..after that no more soft skills till i started working).Anyways ,here are a few.

Optimistic pessimism:
   Telling yourself that the outcome of a situation will undoubtedly be pleasant; when knowing that the truth is that it will not, so that your artificial smile and laughter will not and cannot be undistinguished between true and false.Well, sounds complex, basically leading a life with cliche phrases like "every cloud has a silver lining"  and living in cockoo land.

Trait or dispositional optimism and pessimism, which is a chronic tendency to have positive or negative expectations;

Explanatory optimism/pessimism, which is a way of explaining why bad things occur (optimists would blame external factors, while pessimists would blame themselves);

Defensive pessimism, a strategy for handling anxiety that involves lowering expectations;

Strategic optimism, in which people focus on positive things when faced with an anxiety-provoking even

        Now, these are making my blog look like a textbook.But,now these make you think which is better optimism or pessimism. You will find hundreds of articles about this.Some say extreme of either is not good.Being too optimistic makes you weak and you dream about the positive outcome.Extreme pessimism makes you complacent and you get into "its bound to fail , why try?" .I think as long as you know to balance these and have set your priorities  right, you won't have  any issues.
        I might be a pessimistic optimist, and I take it as a compliment now, because it’s that pessimism which has allowed me to accept and endure tough spells in life to push through to the other side. If I didn’t get my mind ready to tackle a big problem, how would I keep my composure to face it? Instead I hope for the best but expect the worst. This old saying perfectly captures how a pessimistic person approaches life.But, we should be balanced enough to count our blessings .With that note i leave you to take the test to see where you fall.

The life we have~~

  I know the title doesn't make much sense.But , doesn't every other day everyone laments on the better life someone else is supposedly living? Oh ah..he is settled in USA , how cool and lucky..The typical human tendency of liking what someone else has is something typical of most people.When i come across such people i just ignore them.Sometimes use sarcasm to remind them of what they have!Well, i myself fantasize the wonderful life the travel blogger or travel show host must have! lol..so all in all we are all guilty of this sin of drooling on something we want.
