Being nice is doormat-ism?

Nowadays its considered cool to be rude and bad mouthed? Since when did this happen? Adults reprimanded children for using words which are considered bad language. But now it seems a norm use F words ,gaali etc in movies and real life.
I was watching some movie on TV with some local slang's and gaali. It was a major hit .How did we come to this?Oh no, i am not trying to be moral police here.Just that some word's are used anywhere and everywhere irrespective of situation. And nobody's turns a hair.Somehow using it in a polite situation spoils the overall effect.
Here if someone is very nice and uses good language is considered "the good one" "the uncool one" "seedha saadha" "studious" and what all.I have seen some genuinely nice people getting sidelined in the line of recognition because they used normal language. How uncool is that now.But in the long run nice people come on the top. They might not be  as popular as the baddie ,but they are not doormat's!

PS: Not based on me, purely hypothetical :D
