valentine day fiasco!!

A kid comes home from school, with a garland and a tilak on his forehead.Mummy:son, who put the garland and tilak.Son:mummy,it was a uncle named mutalik.Mummy:why is sheila too wearing a garland and why is she come home with you.Son:we were sitting in the playground eating our lunch and suddenly mutalik uncle came and said, this is not indian culture.Marry them. Then,me and sheila got married,so she is my wife now."Mummy faints".This incident sounds funny to you?But again isn't Mutalik's take on love and valentine funny?
I was walking in the Mall then i met this friend of mine from college days, whom i never liked. We stood and talked about college friends and all.I was then jostled in the crowd. Two men caught me and told me "how dare you".Then a priest started chanting "You miss xyz take mr abc as your lawfully wedded husband".I just smiled at them (thinking this is definitely MTV bakra).Priest looked at me expectantly .I kept on smiling.Someone asked me and Mr.abc "do i own a car".I told "no" and abc told "no".Do i watch star TV's saas bahu saga.We told "no".Then "do you come to the mall often beta?" As expected we replied "YES" .Now the priest benovelently told "Now i pronounce you husband and wife ".I woke up sweating.Mutalik's fatwa has made us all think and rethink, but alas...we can conclude Mr Mutalik go jump in a well!

Moral Hooliganism

I was shocked when i saw this news on TV.My mother pointed it out to me,come here beta see this.It was the Mangalore pub attacks. It was indeed a shameful act which will smear India's image. Then there was all the media circus and political dirt slinging matches. The BJP and the Congress are pointing fingers at each other and trying to gain political mileage from the incident. At this time what they need to do is stop grabbing the lime light from the actual cause! All of us have condemned the violence against women. These kind of men who expect women to be “traditional” just want them to be dolls gift wrapped in saris, ones who are barefoot and pregnant and confined to the kitchen someone please sponsor a time machine for these men! The once who think beating up women is a tradition or a part of our culture – no time line would accept such vermin. Its time to wake up,who are these guys to teach us the lesson of morality.Since when did we become people who preach morality and not practice it?They should be severely punished.Even if they thought the girls going to pub was against our countries culture, they didnot have the right to abuse whoever they wanted. If this goes unpunished, then it will give people the lisence to abuse anyone they feel is not adhering to their way of thinking.

change for good? :-)

We all resist any type of change,be it personal or professional. We are caught in the rat race, where we do and emulate same things. Is this the right attitude?Do we really need to compare ourselves to others and find ourselves lacking? This seems like common syndrome in today's generation.I am guilty to this!MY previous post says it all.If you stop and think, most of us are guilty of this .After much needed thinking we realize that everyone and everything is like a piece of a puzzle, sometime or the other it falls into place. But,if we dont agree to bend a little,it might break us.Being optimistic at times take you through tough times or times you think are supposed to be tough.I just met the guy who my dad was telling has taken up music as career.I was still grappling over my parents raving about career in music(oh well,he does earn more than me!My parents might be disappointed that i dont play so well ;P).They were in some type of awe, after seeing him play,i must say i am impressed. Is this change coming over due to all the dance and singing reality shows?or Rehman's fame.Possibly none of these, its the change in people's mindset. We are all changing for better, this is not a delusion,I must say its believeable most of the times. "change thyself, allow thyself to be changed, not so that you lose out on chance, but rather take a chance"(saint Rachana). Hurray..i am cured now.More malleble and ductile now (nope, not turned to metal yet ;P)
